Access to high-quality child care is a concern for working parents in any career. For some families, like those in professional sports, the need for care falls outside of a traditional workweek or workday. Champions is stepping in to help. They’re expanding their game day support program. They’re now providing onsite child care for Chicago White Sox athletes and uniformed personnel during game days.
Champions will offer care for children ages three months to 12 years old while the children’s parents are engaged in game day activities at Guaranteed Rate Field during this season’s home games. Champions already provides game day sports for several other professional sports teams, including the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds.
“We know how important access to safe, reliable, high-quality child care is for working families, and professional athletes are no different” said Dan Figurski, president of Champions. “We’re proud to offer players, coaches and uniformed personnel onsite child care during home games. We’ll focus on caring for and educating their children so they can focus on playing a great game.”
Champions’ game day programs offer learning activities, healthy snacks and plenty of opportunities for children to engage with and have fun with their peers, all within the safety and convenience of the team’s home stadium. Their proprietary curriculum supports the whole child by teaching children the skills they need to be successful in school and in life, such as creating connections with others, developing their social and emotional skills and building community.
